Alaska to Tierra del Fuego 2013

Tierra del Fuego Home | Bike's & Bio's | Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3

Welcome to the Home page for the inaugural running of the GlobeRiders Alaska to Tierra del Fuego Adventure.

GlobeRiders Alaska to Tierra del Fuego is a three-stage journey. The first stage is a do it yourself adventure from Alaska to California. Several of the people that you will meet in this journal have done Stage 1 already and some will do this later.

Stage 2 of the journey starts in Los Angeles, California and ends in Panama city, Panama. Finally Stage 3 starts in Bogota, Colombia, and ends 63 days later in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.

The group that is joining GlobeRiders in Los Angeles, California, for this first journey to Tierra del Fuego has all but one decided to go all the way to the end of the continent, the most southern city in the world, Ushuaia. That is a 93 days motorcycle tour the length of the Americas. Two additional riders will join the team in Bogota, Colombia.

Committing to such a huge project is a big undertaking for all involved, not only for us out riding the back roads of the Americas, but also for family and friends at home. It is a team effort to be able to dedicate work and all kinds of practical matters to be handled while being gone for 3+ months. With that said I would like to thank everyone involved in supporting each one of us that are fortunate enough to be part of this extraordinary ride to Tierra del Fuego.

Enjoy the journal and hopefully one day some of you can join us on an upcoming GlobeRiders journey to the end of the World, Ushuaia or other destinations around the world.

DeLormeMap

*Tour has ended so map is no longer Active.

This map will be automatically updated using the DeLorme inReach™ Tracking feature. Just as we have done for many years here at GlobeRiders, we will feed our current position to the interactive map on the left - so feel free to play around and see where we've been and what we're up to now. Just refresh the webpage when you want the map to return to it's original feed position.

Clicking on any location point in the Track will show you when we were there and the locations Lat/Lon coordinates. If you click the (+) sign next to the current-location cursor, our track, or history of where we've been, will expand on the map: zoom out using the map controls on the left of the map window to see the complete journey. Clicking-and-holding on the map will allow you to drag the map in the map window.

We hope you enjoy following along with us and maybe in the future we'll see you on one of our GlobeRider Adventures.
