In the fall of 2007, GlobeRiders realized a dream that had been in the planning stages for years - the pre-run or "recce" for a future tour of the former French colonies of IndoChina.
Founder Helge Pedersen, along with team rider Chris Poland and award-winning filmmaker/videographer Sterling Noren, spent 71 days riding through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
Over the course of their 8,000 mile journey, Sterling shot over 100 hours (1.3 terabytes!) of High Definition video, capturing the stunning beauty of the land, and the smiles, traditions, daily lives and cultural treasures of the people. From this vast library of sight and sound, he then spent roughly 1,200 hours in editing. The result? A new IndoChina Expedition DVD, and a six-part television series.
You can relive the experience! On Thursday, December 4th, GlobeRiders will conduct a special premier showing of the IndoChina Expedition at the Crest Cinema Center in Seattle, WA. Although the adventure is enthralling on the recently released DVD, this special event will use a digital projector, showing the IndoChina Expedition in full High Definition video resolution, bigger than life.
The entire team will be on-hand for the show. A drawing will be held for door prizes. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to participate in a virtual moto-adventure through the diverse and historic countries of Southeast Asia.
DVDs of the IndoChina Adventure will be for sale in the theater lobby. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Cambodian land mine victims.
